  1. A Silver Sun track is ten places higher than I Think I'm In Love? I'm gonna put my foot through the computer screen Velvet Owl. And send you the bill.

  2. Dear reader. The top 5 were selected due to the number of votes they received from the Owl members. Numbers 6-70 were chosen at random. To be honest, there's probably 100 songs better than that Silver Sun song and indeed a great number of songs on the list (Aimee Mann?). However, these are the songs that our contributors felt were the best of that decade and that is that.

  3. Pleased to see Fanfare by Eric Matthews hot on the tail of Born Slippy as the 32nd best song of the 1990s... and above Ice Hockey Hair to boot...

Ah, these lists are impossible things- I don't even like the Fall song in this list, let alone 60% of the top 5. Although there is a few towards the end of the list I have no idea about and may give an impartial listen to tomorrow.

Incidentally I had the pleasure of briefly owning the first Silver Sun album and it made the Warm Jets debut seem like Sgt Pepper.
